Strict routines and long hours of study finally paid off for the students who wrote Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Bengaluru saw students bagging high ranks, who may end up getting placed in the law college of their choice.

Vasavi Khati from Christ Junior College, who bagged the 16th rank, has been preparing since first PUC for CLAT. She focused on mathematics, English and logical skills to improve the time taken to complete the paper. On most days, Vasavi took mock tests and now hopes to get admitted into the National Law School of India University (NLSIU).

Students credited their coaching centres and parents for their stellar performance. Mayank Jain from DPS East, who bagged the 40th rank, spent nearly eight hours a day preparing for the exams in the last few months. He also hopes to study law at NLSIU.

Some students had extra-curricular activities under their belt, which was a natural stress buster for them. Aditi Ramakrishnan, a student of CMR National Public School, who bagged the 73rd rank, was part of the school’s throw ball team. Throw ball helped her take her mind off the stress. She said she practiced mock tests in the last few months. She now hopes to get admitted in either NLSIU or NALSAR University of Law.

Another student Tejjas Malik, who bagged the 198th rank, spent his energies on pursuing his hobbies, which include photography, film making and playing basket ball, while paying equal attention to his studies. Legal reasoning was an important section for him, along with general knowledge. He wants to join NLS Jodhpur.

Srinivas Cummaragunta of Royal Concorde International School bagged the 34th rank and wants to join NLSIU. He used music as an effective way to beat stress, besides actively participating in debates and Model United Nations. He focused mainly on legal reasoning, as he was comfortable with the subject.

Anirudh Modi Green Valley Public School Bhilwara bagged the 38th rank and wants to join NLSIU. He has been preparing for CLAT for the past year and studied for long hours. Mock tests and time management helped him perform in the exam.
