Highest aggregate 98 per cent
Continuing the tradition, girls outperformed boys in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) 2010 examinations conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) whose results were announced on Wednesday.
According to the CISCE, the ICSE pass percentage is 99.94, and ISC 99.47. The pass percentage of girls in ICSE examination is 99.97, and that of boys is 99.91. In the ISC examination, the pass percentage is 99.78 and 99.16 respectively.
As many as 6,646 students appeared for the ICSE examinations while 937 wrote the ISC examination from Karnataka.
The CISCE, for first time, introduced centralised evaluation of answer scripts. “This enabled accurate and timely evaluation of answer scripts,” a release said.
The highest aggregate of 98 per cent (English and best four subjects) in the ICSE examination was secured by a girl, while a boy secured the highest aggregate of 98 per cent in the ISC examination. In the ICSE examination, 97 candidates secured Grade One in all seven subjects.
Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, achieved 100 per cent pass results in both ICSE and ISC examinations.
Archana V. Menon (93.57 per cent) is the school topper in ICSE examinations and Sheshadri L. (93.28 per cent) and Utsav Vakil (93 per cent) second and third.
In the Science stream in the ISC examinations, Harsimran Kaur (88.83 per cent) is the topper. Aysh Muhammad Machingara (84.33 per cent) and Akilesh Mantripragada (82.83 per cent) took the second and third places.
In the Commerce stream, Meghna Nair (89.7 per cent) is the school topper and Vishakh Amitabh (79.3 per cent) and Aastha Vaid (78.7 per cent) are second and third.
All first class
Sri Kumaran Public School, Mallasandra, secured 100 per cent first classes in the ICSE examination and students scored centum in many subjects. Savitha S. (97 per cent), the school topper, scored 100 marks in History, Civics and Geography. With 679 marks out of 700, she is aiming for an engineering degree from an IIT.
At Presidency School, Nandini Layout, all the 65 who appeared for the board examinations passed in first class. Four students secured a centum in computer science and one in environmental education. Mithun C. (94 per cent) is the school topper and Pooja U. Tata (93.71 per cent) and Pranit K. (93.29 per cent) took the second and third places.
At St. Joseph's
Vaishnav Murthy of St. Joseph's Boys High School topped his class in the ICSE examinations with 94.85 per cent.
The ISC science topper at St. Joseph's, Ankit G.S., scored 96.16 percent. Calvin John Pinto scored the maximum marks with 96.16 per cent too in the ISC commerce category.
Advik Aiyer Guha and Naveen Chengappa scored 94 per cent and 91 per cent respectively in ICSE, topping their classes at Sishu Griha Montessori and High School.
Vidya Niketan School
The ICSE topper at Vidya Niketan School, Hebbal, was Akash Ramachandran who secured 95 per cent. In the ISC science category, Pooja Mohta scored 90.6 per cent and Lakshmi Ashok 90.2 per cent. Rahul Ramanani and Ganesh B scored 93.3 and 92.8 per cent each in the commerce category.
Naksha S. of Cluny Convent High School, with 96.28 per cent, topped her school. Deepa Jain was second with 95.42 and Jennifer Jacob third with 95.28 per cent.
