City police get body warrant to question blast suspects

A month after the three suspects involved in Malleswaram blast case were arrested by a special team of Tamil Nadu police in Puttur in Andhra Pradesh, the city police have obtain body warrant to question the accused on Tuesday.

The 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate issued a body warrant to bring Panna Ismail, Police Fakruddin and Bilal Malik to question them.

A senior police officer said that a team of police will go to Salem and bring them to the city for questioning. “We wanted to ascertain their exact role in the blast based on which the charges are framed against them,” the police officer said.

The city police have filed the charge sheet against 14 persons in connection with the case. The charge sheet containing over 7,000 pages has 200 documents and mentions 260 witness accounts, accusing J. Baasir alias Basheer (30), M Kichan Buhari alias Bugari (38), M. Mohammed Salin (30); Panna Ismail alias Mohammed Ismail (30), Paravai Basha (32), and Ali Khan Kutti (from Tirunelveli); Sait Asgar Ali alias Sait (29), S. Rahmatulla (32), Valayil Hakeem alias Hakeem (32), Syed Suleiman alias Tenkasi Suleiman (24), Man Bhai alias Suleiman alias Olango (31), Zulfikar Ali (24)(from Coimbatore); and Bilal Malik alias Bilal (28) and Fakruddin alias Police Fakruddin (30) (both from Madurai) of their involvement in the case.
