City gets six more HOPCOMS outlets

May 23, 2010 05:20 pm | Updated 05:20 pm IST - Bangalore:

The city got six more Horticultural Producers Cooperative Marketing and Processing Society (HOPCOMS) outlets here on Saturday.

Horticulture Minister Umesh Katti inaugurated two shops in Nagarabhavi.

Four others, along with five mobile sales vehicles, were opened at Vijayanagar by MLA M. Krishnappa.

HOPCOMS also took a significant step towards electronic billing at its outlets. The society's Managing Director B. Krishna said 130 of the 248 outlets will now have computerised billing within the next two weeks. This, he said, would ensure uniform pricing.

The society plans to double its daily procurement of vegetables and fruits to 200 tonnes by the end of this year, he said.
