City gets another taxi ride

Taxialways.com, with over 255 cabs and van for hire, launched its services here on Wednesday.

Hameed Akbar Ali, managing director of the company, said the service will offer a special discount of 25 per cent for senior citizens per ride, while pregnant women will get the same discount for daily travel over a month.

The service is being supported by Tata Motors. While a non-ac cab will cost Rs. 16 per kilometre, an air-conditioned taxi will cost Rs. 17 per km. The vehicles have GPS as well an Emergency Panic Button installed on the passengers’ seat.

The service was launched by State Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Kannada film actor Neethu Shetty.
