March 14, 2015 06:29 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 05:14 pm IST - Bengaluru:

A team of police from Ulsoor police station left for Madurai in Tamil Nadu to nab police sub-inspector Rajaram, who was booked for publicly beating up his daughter on Thursday.

“We have taken up a suo motu case against Rajaram and he will be brought to the city for questioning,” a senior police officer said, adding that based on his statement, the police would take further action.

The action by the city police comes after City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi directed the Ulsoor police to take up a suo motu case against Rajaram, on Friday.

The accused Rajaram was found thrashing and kicking his daughter publicly, while passers-by witnessed the incident as mute spectators. He had assaulted his daughter accusing her of having a boyfriend and bringing disrepute to the family, which the girl refuted.
