It looks like Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be getting at least truckload of mail on Monday morning. Residents across the city have already started sending postcards to the Chief Minister asking him to withdraw the draft notifications on Common Zoning Regulations, which — if passed — will see commercial establishments crop up in quiet residential neighbourhoods. In some of the postcards, carrying the hashtag #HosaZoningBeda, citizens have written to the CM asking whether their vote should go to him. “We expect at least 10,000 postcards to be sent by citizens in the coming days,” said Somayaji KVR, secretary of JP Nagar 4th Phase Residents' Welfare Association.

Mr. Somayaji says he hopes that citizens from other cities and towns in Karnataka, too, will join the campaign as the notifications affect them as well.
