A three-year-old who opened the sliding windowpane of his seventh floor bedroom plummeted to his death in HSR Layout on Thursday night. Nodan’s parents were in the drawing room of their flat in SJR Vista at the time.

The HSR Layout police said the window was locked but the child managed to work it loose and opened it. There were no grills and he fell over. His body was found by the security guard and other residents. His father, Nitin, a software engineer, and mother are in a state of shock, the police said.

Two road deaths

A garment factory supervisor died when he slammed into the median after losing control over his motorcycle at Madiwala, off Hosur Main Road, on Thursday night.

Keshav Prasad (26) was on his way home from his factory in Garvebhavipalya. The Madiwala police said he was speeding.

Retired ITI employee Veeraswamy (60) died when a lorry ran over him while he was crossing the road opposite the BBMP office in K.R. Puram on Thursday.

Convoy car catches fire

A car belonging to an aide of Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar caught fire accidently at the Vikasa Soudha on Friday evening. The police said short-circuit in the battery could have triggered the fire. The car is part of the Chief Minister’s convoy and the fire was extinguished within minutes.
