Chief Secretary Arvind Jadhav, who went on a surprise inspection of Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha on Monday, expressed displeasure over the lack of cleanliness and security measures.

He directed officials concerned to install hi-tech security devices at all entry points.

This is essential, especially as several people visit the buildings every day.

‘Use water judiciously’

The Chief Secretary suggested hosting cultural programmes on the premises of Vidhana Soudha but without compromising on security. Directing the officials to adopt rainwater harvesting in government buildings, including Vidhana Soudha and Vikasa Soudha, he advised staff to use water judiciously.

Progress review

He directed officials to put up an audio-visual display on the State’s art, culture and the government’s flagship programmes in Metro stations on the East-West corridor.

He will review the progress on implementation of these directions on May 21.
