Nothing prevented the inaugural event of the centenary celebrations of government-run Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd., known for its brand product Mysore Sandal Soap.

Amidst Karnataka bandh and the associated protests across the city, Minister for Industries R.V. Deshpande chose to go ahead with the inaugural programme instead of postponing it.

KSDL Chairperson Veronica Cornelio, Bengaluru Deputy Mayor Hemalatha Gopalaiah, MLA K. Gopalaiah, and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar attended the programme. More than 1,500 members, including families of the staff, were present.

Despite bandh, inaugural event of the centenary celebrations of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd. takes place
