A day after the Army withdrew from the premises hosting four government schools and junior college at J.C. Nagar, the festive mood continued. Sweets were distributed to the students and parents on Friday by Hebbal MLA Y. Narayanswamy during the morning assembly.
While the primary schools were closed as a holiday was declared locally owing to the festive season, less than 30 per cent of the students of the high school and PU College attended.
By Thursday evening, army personnel, had removed their tents from the 2 acres 8 guntas premises, after the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar intervened.
On Friday, teachers informed parents that the school would function as usual. Irfhan Pasha, a parent of a high school student said, “We are overjoyed. The over 100-year-old school is part of our history. We are glad that we could saved it.”
