The first batch of 30 senior officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has begun their journey of learning from the very best.

The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), launched a certificate programme in ‘Financial Intelligence and Analytics’, which will be delivered by senior faculty members to provide CBI officers with knowledge in financial management, financial operations and markets. For practical insights, guest speakers from audit firms, consulting firms, and organisations such as the Reserve Bank of India, are also likely to address the participants. Speaking during the launch of the programme on Monday, Anil Kumar Sinha, Director, CBI, said the track record of the bureau was under increasing stress due to many factors. “Our investigators face the biggest challenge in new age crimes, financial and cybercrimes where technology enables offenders to operate across national jurisdictions at the click of a button. In the field of financial and multi-jurisdictional crimes, investigators and prosecutors must be constantly kept apprised of global trends, swiftly changing technology and ever-changing laws,” he said.
