Cases booked against autorickshaw drivers

Continuing the drive against erring autorickshaw drivers, the city Traffic police on Friday booked 95 cases against autorickshaw drivers for various violations.

Police officials in plainclothes around Madiwala caught drivers who demanded excess fares and refused to come on hire.

The police have seized the autorickshaws and slapped fines on the drivers. Among the 95 cases, 33 autorickshaws did not have permits to operate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East) Babu Rajendra Prasad said.
