Case against MLA to be handed over to CID

Home Minister K.J. George on Tuesday announced in the Legislative Assembly that the case registered against Chintamani MLA M. Krishna Reddy will be handed over to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) for an impartial probe.

Raising the issue, Y.S.V. Datta of the Janata Dal (S) alleged that a false case had been foisted against Mr. Reddy who tried to protect public property. A case was registered against the MLA following a complaint by the Tahsildar, he said.

In his reply, Mr. George clarified that no murder case was registered against Mr. Reddy. A case of inciting people while cremating a body was registered against the MLA, he said.
