Career Counselling session today

The event to be held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall from 10 a.m.

The Hindu EducationPlus is back with its annual career counselling sessions to help you chose your career. An off-page extension of our weekly supplement The Hindu EducationPlus, The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling 2014 will be held at Chowdiah Memorial Hall here on Sunday.

As part of the programme, Common Entrance Test (CET) officials have been invited to brief the participants on the procedure of online counselling and admission that follows the CET. Among those who will be present at the event on Sunday are S.N. Gangadharaiah, Administrative Officer, KEA, and U.S. Badiger, KEA official.

S. Kumar, executive secretary, Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), will guide the students through the admission process for private quota seats.

The other eminent speakers at the counselling session are: Ameen E. Mudassar, Director-CIGMA (he will speak on general education); K. Mallikarjuna Babu, Principal, BMS College of Engineering (engineering); K.S. Nagesh, Director, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Public Health and Centre for Disease Control (medicine); and H. Shivanna, Dean (College of Agriculture), University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, (agricultural sciences).

Another annual attraction is The Hindu EducationPlus’ Career Handbook 2014 — a well-researched publication on the emerging careers and courses — titled Know Your True Calling . Students of classes 10, 11, 12, PU and their parents are invited.

The State Bank of India is the title sponsor while Dr. T. Thimmaiah Institute of Technology, KGF; Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore; Rajarajeswari Group of Institutions, Bangalore, and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, are the associate gold sponsors. Padmashree Group of Institutions, Bangalore, Sambhram Institutions, Bangalore, and Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore, are the associate silver sponsors.

The session will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students must come 30 minutes prior to the event for registration. The registration fee is Rs. 50 and there is only spot registration.
