Car set ablaze

A car parked outside a house in Mahalakshmi Layout was set on fire on Tuesday night. The owner of the car, Narasimhamurthy, who heads Nava Nirmana Vedike, a city-based NGO, accused his “political rivals” of indulging in the act.

In his complaint, he said that a group of men landed in front of his house, poured kerosene on the tyres and set them on fire. Soon the fire engulfed the entire car and neighbours woke up to the burning smell and rushed out and doused the fire.

Based on the complaint the Mahalakshmi Layout police have registered a case and are investigating.
