A couple and their teenage daughter were killed on the spot when their scooter was hit by a car being driven in the wrong direction of a one-way street in Kumaraswamy Layout.

Dakshinamurthy (45), a lab technician in a college in the city, was returning home from his in-laws’ house with his wife, Nagaveni (40), and daughter, Aishwarya (13), on Sunday when the car collided with their vehicle near Ilyas Nagar.

While Dakshinamurthy was thrown off the scooter, Nagaveni fell 10 metres away and Aishwarya was dragged under the car for about 5 metres.

Driver trashed

The driver, thrashed by passersby, fled.

The Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police have seized the car and are looking out for the driver.
