Basavanagudi police arrested a car dealer on the charge of murdering his business partner to avoid repaying a Rs. 30-lakh loan.

Nayeemulla Khan (29), who invited Syed Asif (28) on the pretext of returning the money, slit his throat and carried the body to Hullahalli village in Nanjangud town of Mysore district. There, he set fire to the body and dumped it in the Kabini.

Meanwhile, Asif’s worried family filed a missing complaint when he went incommunicado and did not return home even after two days. They told the police he had gone to meet Khan to get back his money.

The police detained Khan who, on intense questioning, confessed that he had taken the help of his employees Huccha Naik (37) and Jawara Naik (28) to kill Asif.

The police retrieved the body and conducted an autopsy.

They also recovered the knife and the vehicle used in the crime.
