Cancer patient ends life

After writing a note that neither her husband nor her parents-in-law be allowed to touch her body and that her two children be looked after by her parents or sister-in-law, a cancer patient hanged herself at home on World Cancer Day in Vijayanagar here on Monday. Ratna (37), married to Srinivas had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her parents, who rushed to the city from Srirangapatna, told the police they had no complaints against Srinivas or his family.

Sets fire to himself

Rajkumar (32), a carpenter, committed suicide by pouring kerosene on himself and setting himself ablaze in his house in CIL Layout here on Monday. His mother, who was in Salem, told the police her son had a problem with alcohol.
