Buzz missing at media centre

May 17, 2014 12:43 am | Updated 01:06 am IST - Bangalore:

Perhaps for the first time in the Information Department’s history, the media centre set up by the department on its premises could not attract the attention of even a single leader from any political party here on Friday. In all the past elections, the then Chief Ministers Ramakrishna Hegde, H.D. Deve Gowda, S.M. Krishna and B.S. Yeddyurappa visited the media centre to voice their views on the election outcome. Earlier, the media centre used to be set up next to the Election Commission of India’s office in Cubbon Park. Even artistes and writers used to take this opportunity to make statements, but nothing of that sort happened this time. Presspersons had to obtain the results from a few television sets installed at the venue. And, very few presspersons had assembled there as many of them were busy in TV panel discussions.
