The city’s First Citizen’s first-day-first-show was all about teachers. Mayor B.S. Sathyanarayana spent a large part of the morning on Thursday visiting his alma mater, remembering the teachers who influenced him.

He told The Hindu that he first visited Mahila Mandali Vidya Samsthe in N.R. Colony, which is run by women who are senior citizens. He also visited APS College and participated in the Founder’s Day and Teacher’s Day celebrations. He said he also met RSS leaders and party leaders. The remainder of the day was spent getting acquainted with the various officials. In the evening, he met Governor H.R. Bhardwaj.
