A young businessman from Jharkhand was arrested here on Sunday for allegedly stealing money from two bank accounts by secretly noting down the card details and PIN of cardholders.

The Ulsoor Gate police named the suspect as A. Manish Akhilesh Singh (22), a civil works contractor who also owns a bar in his native Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.

The police said Singh is suspected to have duped at least two ATM cardholders since December 27, 2011. He used to target the cardholders who were not very savvy in operating the ATM machines.

He would stand next to such people in the kiosk and gather the information he needed, the police said.

Singh, who came to Bangalore in December, was staying in Sapthagiri Layout with his sister, who is a student.

The police believe that more such cases will come to fore during investigation.
