A group of persons stoned several buses, including those of BMTC and KSRTC, in Rajajinagar, Indiranagar, Kudlu Gate, K.R. Puram, Budigere Cross, Jalahalli Cross, Deepanjalinagar and other parts on Thursday. A BMTC bus driver, Manjunath, sustained injuries near Kudlu Gate.

The police said that at least 37 BMTC buses and 10 KSRTC buses were damaged. The police have taken 38 employees of both KSRTC and BMTC into preventive custody in the west division while they were staging a protest in the Majestic area.

“Barring stray incidents, the strike was peaceful. All the senior police officials were in constant touch with Transport Department officials,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) T. Suneel Kumar.
