A budding Kannada film actor attempted suicide at his residence at Channammakahere Acchukattu locality here on Monday, apparently after failing to arrange funds for his movie, which is stuck.
The actor, identified as Raam (40), is a resident of Katriguppe. He is playing the lead role in the upcoming movie ‘Siddapura’.
The movie is about a youth getting into rowdism and his struggle.
Movie stopped
The movie was stopped mid-way, due to a financial crunch, as the producer reportedly refused to commit any more funds.
Raam had borrowed money from his parents and continued to shoot the movie. Once the funds were exhausted, he approached his friends, but no one was ready to help.
