BU to get jubilee building

Bangalore University (BU) will soon get a golden jubilee building and a hostel for girl students from North-East India (50 per cent admission for them) at a cost of Rs. 10 crore and Rs. 15 crore respectively. CCTV cameras will be installed on the campus at a cost of Rs. 1crore.

Bangalore University Finance Officer R. Ramanna announced during the presentation of the revised budget estimates for 2013-14 and the budget estimates for 2014-15 to the Academic Council at its meeting here on Wednesday that the State government may pitch in Rs. 8 crore for the jubilee building. Some council members raised questions about the exclusion of the Kolar PG Centre from the budget.
