Boy flying kite falls, dies

A playful evening ended tragically when an eight-year-old boy flying a kite fell from the top of a building at K.G. Halli on Monday.

The deceased, Wahid, a resident of Rahat Ali Layout in HBR Layout, was a class 2 student. On Monday evening, Wahid went with a small group of boys to the top of a building to fly kites. However, he was too close to the edge of the top floor, lost balance and plummeted to his death.

His friends immediately informed Wahid’s parents who rushed their son to a hospital. However, he could not be saved. Wahid was the third son of Akbar, a labourer, and Reshma, a homemaker.

Techie dies

A 26-year-old software engineer was killed when he crashed his motorbike into a pavement near South End Circle in Jayanagar on Monday evening.

The deceased, Saurav, a resident of JP Nagar 5th phase, lost balance while taking a turn and crashed into the pavement. Saurav sustained serious head injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where died soon after, the police said.

A native of Bihar, he had been living in the city with his younger brother for the last five years.
