Boy blames porn for rape bid

A day after he was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl, a fourteen-year old boy, who has been sent to a juvenile home here on Thursday, is believed to have told the Nelamangala police that he frequently watched porn clippings, which he said instigated him.

The accused was arrested near his school on Wednesday evening after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault the child, his relative studying in the nursery class of the school.

The girl, who was severely injured after the boy allegedly smashed her head with a boulder, is battling for her life in a private hospital in Bangalore.

The boy was sent to State Home for Boys on Hosur Road here, the Nelamangala police said.

Pedestrian dies

A contract labour with the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was run over by a goods autorickshaw near the Siddapura junction on Dr. Mari Gowda Road on Thursday morning. The Wilson Garden traffic police identified the victim as Hanumakka (58). Her husband Ramaiah (62), who was injured in the accident, was treated for minor injuries.

The police said the couple was crossing the road when the vehicle knocked down Hanumakka. The driver fled, abandoning the vehicle.

Chain snatched

Two men snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 30,000 from Raju near the Graphite India Junction here at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Mahadevpura police said.

Ends life in car

Passersby and shopkeepers near the storm water drain near the Geleyara Balaga here were in for a shock on Thursday evening when they found a dead person in a car that was parked for two days.

Mahalakshmi Layout police suspect H. Manjunath (26), a resident of Kadirenahalli near Banashankari, to have taken poison two days back. A suicide note found in his pocket, cited failure in love.
