Auto component major Bosch on Saturday said it was temporarily closing its facility at Adugodi following a public notice issued by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB).

On Friday, the KSPCB issued a notice directing closure of all industrial units letting their effluents, treated or untreated, into a waterbody within the catchment area of Bellandur lake.

In the public notice, it was mentioned that no industry would be permitted to operate unless it has been inspected by a joint inspection team and its effluent discharge found to be within permissible limits. The KSPCB notice follows the recent National Green Tribunal order directing the shutdown of all industries in the Bellandur lake catchment area till an inspection is carried out.
