The High Court on Thursday set aside inclusion of the former councillor V. Nagaraj alias Bomb Nagaraj in the history sheet list of the Srirampura police.
The court said the two criminal cases registered against him don’t bring him under the definition of “goonda” or “rowdy”.
Justice S. Abdul Nazeer passed the order while allowing petition filed by Mr. Nagaraj challenging the history sheet. Mr. Nagaraj, who had unsuccessfully contested Assembly elections from Gandhingar thrice since 1999, complained to the court that his name repeatedly featured in the list at the behest of his rivals even though the High Court, in 1999 and 2004, had set aside inclusion of his name on earlier occasions. He also complained that the inclusion was done without issuing notice to him though the High Court had restrained the police from such an action.
