The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) started its encroachment removal drive on Tuesday in areas which were most affected by rain last week.

BMTF officials visited parts of Koramangala, Shantinagar, Mahadevapura and J.P. Nagar where residents had complained of encroachments on stormwater drains or lakebeds.

“Based on the complaints of residents, an encroachment removal drive was started in rain-affected areas,” said Lakshmi Ganesh, superindent of police, BMTF.

The task force has identified a few places where there have been encroachments and is planning to take action against the respective builders.
