The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation’s (BMTC) revenue has fallen by 3%. Since the introduction of metro trains, the number of bus passengers has dropped to 2.15 lakh per day. This has resulted in decline of revenue, said Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy. Around 50 lakh people commute in BMTC buses in the city daily.
He said double-decker buses are expected to hit Bengaluru roads again by the end of this year.
The BMTC has decided to buy three double-decker buses to boost tourism.
