BMTC bus knocks down woman, son

Bangalore: A 40-year-old woman and her five-year-old son were severely injured when a BMTC bus knocked them down while they were crossing the road opposite Cantonment railway station on Wednesday.

Jayanti along with her son, Chandan, had gone to her parents house in Kolar.

The victims were soon rushed to Mahaveer Jain hospital and from there shifted to Hosmat Hospital.

Angry Passers-by soon gathered at the scene and bashed up the driver and damaged the bus. The High Grounds police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control by resorting to mild lathi-charge. The High Grounds traffic police seized the bus and have taken the driver into custody.
