Rakshitha Sujai, who was injured in the April 17th Malleswaram bomb blast was discharged on Monday from M.S. Ramaiah Hospital here.

Rakshita and her friend Leesha N.S. are two of the 16 injured in the blast that occurred on Temple Street. While Rakshita developed Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome following multiple injuries, Leesha suffered compound fractures in her right leg. The two friends were injured when they were on a break from their CET coaching classes on that day.

They were taken to KC General Hospital where they were given initial treatment and then shifted to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital.

Naresh Shetty, president of M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, said that Rakshitha had undergone multiple surgeries for her injuries and was better now.

“She is undergoing physiotherapy and will have to continue it for sometime. She is able to walk on her own and will have to come for follow-up treatment,” he said.

The two girls wrote their CET exams from their hospital beds recently.
