The city police detained over 100 BJP workers, who were marching to lay seige to Vidhana Soudha, protesting against the Congress-led state government.

The rally that began at Freedom Park was led by State BJP president B.S. Yeddyurappa and other leaders. The rally marched towards Vidhana Soudha via Race Course Road. However, before the protestors reached Shivananda Circle, the police stopped and detained them. The party workers were whisked away in BMTC buses.

Traffic movement in and around Freedom Park was disrupted as the BJP workers and party leaders took out the rally, raising slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and alleged corruption by his Cabinet colleagues.
