BJP takes to social media

September 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 28, 2016 03:28 pm IST - BENGALURU:

The BJP has taken its opposition to Congress’s attempt to “hijack the BBMP mandate” to social media. On Friday, it launched a campaign on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp with images “highlighting Congress attempt to derail” people’s mandate.

Its 100 councillors-elect will march to Raj Bhavan on Saturday to appeal to Governor Vajubhai Vala against allowing the Congress-JD(S) combine to control the BBMP.

It has refuted the allegation of wooing Congress councillors-elect. Senior BJP leader Suresh Kumar said the party wants to hold the reins of the BBMP on the strength of its 100 councillors.

“Horse trading is not our ideology,” he said.
