The city unit of the BJP held a meeting on Thursday to finalise candidates for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Council.

Sources said the meeting was inconclusive and it was resolved to let the party's leadership take the call.

Minister in-charge of the city R. Ashok chaired the meeting, which was attended by some MLAs. There are three contenders for the mayor's post — Gangabyraiah from Dr. Rajkumar ward, B.S. Satyanarayana from Basavanagudi ward, and S.K. Nataraj from Sarakki ward.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that some veteran councillors-elect had misgivings about not being apprised of the meeting. They felt that decision on such important issues should have to be a consensus.
