Biker hits traffic sign pole, dies

A teenager working in a hotel lost control over his bike and rammed into the pedestrian pathway on Sankey Road on Sunday late night. He died in the accident.

The deceased, Prem (19), was from Assam. He was working and staying at a hotel in Sadashivanagar. On Sunday night, after the hotel had closed, Prem took out his friend’s bike for a ride to Malleswaram. The accident occurred when he was on the way back.

Police said that he rode on the pathway for around 100 metres, hit the railings near Sankey Tank and rammed into a traffic pole. Prem was not wearing a helmet. He died on the spot.
