A 27-year-old woman was killed on the spot while her father and son suffered injuries when a van hit a motorcycle near the Jakkur airfield here on Saturday.
Varalakshmi, who had come to her parents’ house, was going for shopping with her father, Ramu (51), and son, Prithviraj (5).
The police said that when they neared the airfield, Mr. Ramu lost control of the bike as the road was under repair and all the three fell.
A van then ran over Varalakshmi.
She was taken to the Yelahanka government hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The van driver abandoned the vehicle and fled, the police said.
