Bengaluru to host Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Modi to inaugurate the main session on January 8, 2017.

Karnataka will host the 15th edition of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bengaluru for three days from January 7, 2017. Minister for Large and Medium Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the main session on January 8.

It will be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Tumakuru Road, on the outskirts of the city.

The External Affairs Ministry will provide all support to the event, Mr. Deshpande told presspersons on Saturday after a meeting with senior government officials.

A Yuva NRI session will be held on January 7, and will be attended by delegates from across the globe.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will deliver the keynote address and Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel will attend.

Artisans will display their crafts on all days. President Pranab Mukherjee will be present on the concluding day and will give away the Pravasi Bharatiya awards.
