Dozens of files and other documents bearing seals and stamps of the Department of Revenue in Bengaluru rural district were found in a storm water drain in Bellur in Nagamangala taluk on Sunday. The police have ordered an inquiry.
Savitha Hugar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Nagamangala subdivision), told The Hindu that a stringer of a vernacular newspaper discovered a gunny bag full of wrapped documents in the drain. Revenue officials would be requested to initiate action against employees responsible for the lapse, a police officer said.
