Kolar MP K.H. Muniyappa's silence on the privatisation move has been questioned.

The Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. Employees Association (BEMEA) will stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on August 9 against the proposal to privatise BEML.

The Union government is trying to disinvest from the public sector industries stating loss, but they are in fact earning profit, BEMEA president Anjaneya Reddy told reporters at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) on Sunday.

The people's representatives including Kolar MP K.H. Muniyappa and KGF MLA Y. Ramkka have not raised voice against the centre's move to privatise the defence PSU, BEMEA secretary Jayasheelan alleged.

As part of the agitation to save BEML, the workers of the KGF unit of BEML will stage dharana from August 14 night to August 15, Mr. Reddy said.
