Behave, revellers told

Even though Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) has decided to extend operation of services beyond midnight on December 31, it has asked revellers to conduct themselves well.

Various provisions of the Metro Rail (Operations and Maintenance) Act, 2002, prescribe restrictions and punishment for intoxicated persons creating nuisance to other passengers; obstructing metro rail officials from performing their duties, etc.

A BMRCL spokesperson said it is BMRCL's gesture towards safe celebrations of New Year, he said and appealed to revellers not to create nuisance to others. “We do not say revellers should not enter coaches in an inebriated condition, but they should behave properly,” he said
