The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) multi-facility centre at Mathikere that offers 11 citizen services was inaugurated on Sunday.

According to a communiqué, the centre houses not just the local councillor’s office, but also has BangaloreOne, Senior Citizens Nemmadi Kendra, Primary Health Centre, ward office, a gym, a tailoring training centre and a Citizens’ Contact Point.

The centre, which is located at Netaji Circle in Mathikere, was inaugurated by Malleswaram MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan.

He said that the idea behind the initiative was to help residents avoid running from pillar to post seeking government services. “Depending on the response, similar centres will be established in other wards under Malleswaram constituency,” he said.

Mathikere councillor Muniswamy Gowda said that the three-storeyed multi-facility centre has services such as Office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, Mathikere Sub-Division of the BBMP, Office of the Assistant Revenue Inspector, Mathikere Sub-Division.

The centre has rainwater harvesting and other eco-friendly measures, the communiqué added.
