The crackdown by the city police on the bar and restaurants in and around Gandhinagar for their alleged violation of rules continued on Friday with police personnel deputed at every joint to keep a watch on them.

The city police had raided over 10 establishments on Thursday, detaining their women staff along with others for violating rules.

Bangalore Bars and Restaurants Association president P.S. Mohan Kumar denied any violation saying the police could check the CCTVs installed at each and every bar as mandated. He said the women employees had legitimate IDs from the Excise Department.

“We are following guidelines strictly and paying Rs. 5,000 excise fee per day,” he said, and alleged frequent harassment.
