The India International Dance Congress will be holding an event in Bangalore from the 6 to 9 of July. The event is aimed at addressing the growing presence of Latin American dance in India, and will feature dancers from countries all around the world, including Australia, the United States, and Israel.

John Anthony, the organiser of the event, cites growing interest in Latin American dance across the country as the reason. “The way it looks is something completely different. It’s very graceful,” he says. “Lots of international TV shows have made it popular as well.” The event will feature 100 unique performances by a variety of performers, as well as over 50 workshops, including four championships with cash prizes. In addition, the event will feature both national and international DJs. Mr. Anthony expects attendance of at least a thousand people a day.

The event will be held at Palace Grounds from Friday to Sunday this week. Entry is by invite only. Enthusiasts can approach John Anthony - organiser - +91-9845433370.
