Bangalore software engineer held captive at home, robbed

Two armed men robbed a 38-year-old software engineer while keeping her captive at her home at knife point in Rajanukunte in the outskirts of Bangalore on Wednesday.

While one man held the victim captive, the other snatched her debit card, took her car to a nearby ATM and withdrew Rs. 25,000 from her account. The accused have also robbed her wallet containing gold and cash worth Rs. 10,000. Both of them fled after returning her car and ATM card.

The victim, Tejaswini, works in an IT company at Manyata Tech Park. Her house is in an isolated location at Srinidhi layout and her family was out of station when the incident happened, police said. As she returned from work and opened the main door of her house, two men armed with knives barged in and overpowered her while threatening to kill her if she raised an alarm. Police said they have some vital clues about the incident and are trying to track the culprits.
