Bangalore police open fire at habitual offender

The city police opened fire at an alleged habitual offender in Kumaraswamy Layout, early Tuesday morning.

Police found the accused, Dastagir (22), in an under construction building in Yelechenahalli in Kumaraswamy Layout police station limits. When cornered, the accused pulled out a dagger and tried to attack the cops forcing them to open fire at him.

The accused has been admitted to Victoria hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, a constable Abhijeet (25) too sustained minor injuries in the scuffle.

Tuesday's firing is the third such incident in the last one week in Magadi Road and Rajanakunte.
