Even as the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is encouraging citizens to pay property tax by offering a 5 per cent rebate if they pay their tax by the end of the month, citizens have been complaining that there is a shortage of forms to pay their property tax at the Bangalore One Centres.

An official at the Bangalore One Centre in Jayanagar, 4th block said there was a shortage of forms and the officials were not able provide forms to customers as they ran out of stock. “The BBMP has not supplied us the forms. So we have been turning away several customers. We have been telling them to go to the head office to pay the property tax.”

The official also said many will put off paying the tax until the forms are available as a result, and will not be able to avail themselves of the 5 per cent rebate.

Inconvenience However, a resident of Jayanagar, who did not wish to be named, said a lot of inconvenience was caused to customers.

BBMP Commissioner M. Lakshminarayan said “If there are no forms people can still pay property tax by showing last year’s receipt.” He said he would issue a circular to clarify the doubts.

Modes of payment Property tax can be paid at all BBMP’s assistant revenue offices, Bangalore One Centers and select banks. It can also be paid online at BBMP’s website http://www.bbmp .gov.in
