Bangalore Court summons Akabaruddin Owaisi

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Bangalore city has issued summons to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi based on a private complaint that his recent alleged hate speech at Nirmal in Andhra Pradesh had disturbed communal harmony.

Rajashekar V. Patil, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, in his Wednesday’s order directed Mr. Owaisi to appear before the court on February 23.

The court said the summons should be issued to Mr. Owaisi through the Director-General of Police, Andhra Pradesh. The summons was issued after admitting the complaints, filed two weeks ago by city-based advocates Dilip and Dharmapal.

The complainants have produced the compact discs in which they had recorded Mr. Owaisi’s speech webcast through YouTube . Mr. Owaisi was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police on January 8.
