Over 15 buses belonging to the State and city road transport services were damaged in stone pelting in different parts of the city in the early hours of Wednesday.

But for these, Police Commissioner N.S. Megharik said that the bandh was largely peaceful. He said that 46 platoons of KSRP had been deployed along with the city police to maintain law and order.

At KR Puram, protestors stopped a cab near TC Palya junction. The cab was ferrying factory workers to Hosakote. Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the protestors.

Some people pelted stones at BMTC buses — heading to Majestic — on Mysuru Road, Whitefield, K.R. Puram, Hosakote, Vijayanagar and on Hosur Road.

Twelve cases have been registered in various police stations across the city. The BMTC filed 10 cases of people pelting stones at its buses while KSRTC registered two. Police are poring through CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
